Description

Even the relatively “moderate” hurricane season of 2016 brought home many E&O issues that have (unfortunately) surfaced almost every time a hurricane makes landfall. During these classes (Part1 and Part 2) FAIA’s chief “E&O Bird Dog” (David “BBQ Boy” Thompson) will moderate a panel that includes an E&O defense attorney, a litigation coordinator of a large personal injury law firm, an agent who is “in the trenches,” and an agent who has extensive time as an expert witness.

Actual claims that took place will be analyzed looking at what went wrong but more importantly how easy the mistake typically is to prevent. Other subjects will include the duty of care owed by an agency, the exposures that an agency website might create, company vs. agency E&O claims, uninsured motorist (Of course…Thompson is involved!), and more. Seeing these true experts is a rare opportunity.

As a reminder, the appropriate number and mix of agency employees must take both part 1 and Part 2 (Not necessarily in the same day) to qualify for the 10 percent Westport loss control credit.
